Peru
May - June 2001
We arrived in Lima and settled in the vibrant district of Miraflores. After a couple of days soaking in the local culture, we hit the Panamericana Highway to make our way to Pisco. We explored the stunning Paracas and Islas Ballestas before hopping into a classic American car for the ride to Ica. The highlight there was definitely trying our hand at sand-surfing in the picturesque Huacachina oasis.

Next on our adventure was Nazca, where we took an aerial flight to marvel at the famous Nazca Lines. Afterward, we caught a 'Royal' bus bound for Arequipa. From Arequipa, we embarked on a two-day tour to the breathtaking Colca Canyon, reaching a staggering altitude of 5200m at one point.

Our journey continued as we traveled to Puno and crossed into Bolivia, heading to the charming town of Copacabana. We took a ferry to Isla del Sol on the beautiful Lake Titicaca, soaking in the serene atmosphere before returning to Puno. From there, we made our way to Cusco, where we boarded a train to Aguas Calientes to explore the legendary Machu Picchu and the surrounding villages and markets.

Finally, we wrapped up our unforgettable trip by returning to Lima before catching our flight back home.
