Australia
October - December 1994
I set off for Australia to join a group of fellow travelers around my age. I touched down in Darwin bright and early, and about a day later, I met my group for the first time. Our adventure kicked off at the Territory Wildlife Park, followed by trips to Litchfield National Park and Kakadu National Park. After exploring Katherine Gorge, we spent a couple of days at Manyallaluk, an Aboriginal reserve.
Our journey continued as we drove through the impressive Devil's Marbles, heading toward Alice Springs. We hiked in King's Canyon before making a stop at Ayers Rock, where we managed to climb it the next morning before sunrise. Next, we flew to Cairns to embark on the second leg of our journey. I went scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef and enjoyed a skydiving experience over the stunning Whitsunday Islands.
We visited two breathtaking islands, Great Keppel and Fraser Island, before driving through Brisbane and making our way to the Gold Coast. Our trip concluded as we stopped at Cape Byron and finally drove into Sydney.
